3/30

Dear Olivia,
After snapping around 30 photos in the park, mom got 3 good pictures.  (Not sure whether to blame the photographer or the camera on that one.)

Lately you've been having interesting conversations with our little neighbor girl, Bella.  You speak to her in Japanese and she replies with "Elmo".

Love,

Never, never, ever

Dear Olivia,
We should not ever let dad grow his hair long.  Not ever.

Praise and Play

Today we (Olivia and Dad) were invited to praise and play from a mom we met during storytime at the library.  You really seemed to enjoy singing the songs and using the instruments they provided.  I think the bell rattle was your favorite instrument beause it kept finding its way to your mouth.  Your favorite part of Praise Play (Held at the Grimes Methodist Church) besides snack time was waving the parachute with the other little tikes.  It was a lot of fun watching you giggle and laugh as you would run in and out from underneath the shute.
Love, dad

Our Plumber Olivia

Olivia you love to walk around the house in your diaper.  With this
picture you could look for a job as a plumber.

Lost in translation

Dear Olivia,
Although we speak primarily english in our home, you are becoming proficient in Japanese.  I do love that.  Well, dad has to use the computer now.

Hopefully I can figure out how to post pictures soon.

Blogging, in general

Dear Olivia,
Blogging has not been my expertise yet.  I like to read other people's blogs, but coming up with my own blog is like pulling teeth except harder.
So it's my day off, we don't have cable, and you're taking a nap...It's time to catch up on the last 18 months.

Dad and I are having so much fun with you!  Some highlights of the year have included your first steps (which you took at your first birthday party in front of Nana and Grandma...Great move!).

I also appreciated the day you said mama, after all the coercing and practicing we did.

Your 18 month vocabulary includes:
Doh, doh, doh = No no no
dada, dada, dada = dad, eagle statue, toilet
+other words I can't spell or interpret, although thank goodness you know exactly what you're saying:)

You like Fish kisses.
You also like to do summersalts with dad and dance with one arm in the air.
You hate bathtime, unless cousins are involved.
You love lukewarm swimming pools.
You hate cold swimming pools.

You are in the "whiny", "clingy" and "mom-only" toddler phase, and you hit the kids at babygarten.  But I love you anyway.

Love, mom
